This Is Not a Government Office or Records Custodian. This private reference cannot retrieve records, certify copies, confirm a current address, or change an official database. Send each request to the office that maintains the relevant record. For emergencies, call 911. If someone is stalking or harassing you, contact local police.
Choose the Office Holding the Record
Records are handled by different custodians. An address-to-parcel question belongs with Montgomery County Property Records or the Board of Assessment Appeals. A recorded deed, mortgage, plan, or certified land-document request goes to the Recorder. A Township permit, inspection, zoning, or municipal file belongs with the Township department or its Open Records Officer. The Pennsylvania Right-to-Know Law (RTKL), Act 3 of 2008, 65 P.S. §§ 67.101–67.3104, is the relevant request framework for Township-held public records when a routine record channel does not apply.
- Address and parcel record trail: use By Street for the address-first county and Township handoff.
- Dated telephone and local-history material: use City Directories for the historical-collection route.
- A specific individual record question: use Resident Lookup to identify the correct official system and its limit.
- Postal label versus municipality: use the ZIP Directory before treating a mailing city as a boundary answer.
- Recorded real-property documents: contact the Recorder directly using the office block below.

The Recorder does not perform document searches by telephone. For a copy or historic document request, provide the strongest available identifiers: party name, complete street address and municipality, parcel ID, book and page or instrument number, and a narrow date range. The Public Access System requires an account for search; counter, mail, and certified-copy channels remain separate alternatives. A property-data request is different from a recorded-document request and should be handed to the Board of Assessment Appeals instead.
